The foods we recommend in this article will help you repair the damage caused by the unhealthy diet that too many of us follow throughout the year. One seeking wisdom should avoid processed sugar, salt, yeast and foods that would be unfit for a holy vessel. A fast for the holy day. A fast for entering into a new season. Feast upon lentil soup with carrots and onions, prepare squash with rice and green beans, make cabbage with potatoes and scallions. Green Beans and Onion with Cashews: Pop freah green beans 1/2 onion handful of sliced portobello mushrooms, 1/2 red bell pepper, pinch of Himalayan salt, pinch of fresh cracked ground peppercorns, 1/2 tsp Thyme, and 1/2 tsp Grapeseed oil. Sautee the chopped onions in the grapseed oil. Add the fresh popped green beans and bell pepper and seasonings. Stir and cover 10 minutes on low heat then add the mushrooms, stir 3 minutes. Add 3/4 cup water and cover immediately. Simmer 10 min on low heat. Serve over brown rice with a tossed salad.
Tossed Salad: Romaine lettuce, Spinach, Red peppers, Red Onion, grated carrot, Anise Tomato, Chop greens, slice pepper, tomatoes, anise, onions. Salad dressing Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), freshly ground Himalayan salt, freshly ground peppercorn, oregano, basil, thyme and a squeeze of fresh organic lemon. Toss together. Enjoy with any meal!
1/2 Red cabbage, 3 Red potato, 1 Red onion, 1/2 cup sliced portabella mushrooms, 1 clove garlic, 2 TBL Grapeseed oil, 1 tsp Thyme, 1 tsp Rosemary, 1 tsp fresh ground Himalayan salt, 1/2 fresh ground peppercorn, Peel onion and garlic, then crush garlic and set aside 10 min. While that is activating, get a large pan. Scrub the potatoes with a fresh sponge. Slice them with skin on. Place them in bowl of fresh water then pour into a colander, rinse them. Chop and sautee the Onion in grapeseed oil. Add the potato stir in seasonings. Wait 10 minutes. Stir in the mushrooms add 3/4 cup water and cover tight. Let simmer 20 minutes.
These 10 days are cleaning you out and avoiding the toxic waste we put into our system. A colonic is highly recommended after the 5th day. After that we only eat live foods, staying on the soaked nuts, figs, dates, sliced vegetables and fruit. Entrees include live food only no meat or fish.
Salads: Spiralize zucchini, cucumber, sweet potato. Make live tomato sauce from fresh tomato basil garlic onion and oregano.
Pestos work great for live week! Basil pesto: basil, lemon juice, olive oil, hemp seed and garlic. You can swap the basil for Kale pesto or spinach pesto. Or make it creamy with avocado, but no milk or store bought salad dressings at all. Pestos can be tossed in a salad or drizzled on a wrap or used as a dip for your snack-sized veggies. Take it with you in a cup with a lid going to work. Place your veggie snacks in a ziplock bag.
Bagged salads are great to take to work because all you need is a bowl then you can make your own salad with your chunky veggies and mushrooms. Eat your mushrooms. They fight cancer. Use Extra Vir Olive Oil (EVOO) with raw peas or Hemp hearts. Soak your raw sunflower and pumpkin seeds sprinkle with Himalayan salt.
