With sorrow, we announce the death of Rabbi Jehu August Crowdy. Baruch Dayan Emet- Blessed is the True Judge.
Rabbi Crowdy was the Chief Rabbi and Executive Leader of Temple Bethel. Temple Bethel, whose headquarters is located in Belleville, (Suffolk) Virginia, has tabernacles throughout the United States, The West Indies and Africa. Rabbi Crowdy was the great-grand son of the organization’s re-establisher William Saunders Crowdy and he assumed the mantle of leadership of this spiritual organization in November 2001.
We give thanks for his work, dedication and service to Temple Bethel and the greater Israelite community. May the name of Jehu August Crowdy continue to a blessing to all those who loved him.
