Two New Rabbis

Benyamin Ben Benyamin and Shalom Ben Yisrael and will formally graduate from the Israelite Academy on January 22, 2017, at Beth Shalom in New York City. The ceremony will begin at 1:00 pm. Chief Rabbi Capers Funnye will present them with their rabbinic degrees. After many years of academic study these righteous brothers, who have served the Israelite community with honor and dedication, will have earned the title “rabbi.” Following their graduation, they will become full members of the International Israelite Board of Rabbis. Rabbi Shalom Yisrael will become the Assistant Rabbi of Beth Elohim Hebrew Congregation in Queens, New York. Rabbi Benyamin plans to continue teaching and building bridges of understanding throughout the Israelite community.
